Participants at the 2023 Government Schools Principals Conference

Who can attend?

Who can attend the Government Schools Principals Conference?

Principals and assistant principals from schools across Victoria.

Plan your attendance

What do I need to do?

All conference attendees will attend the two keynote addresses and two plenary sessions across the two days, as well as three workshops.

Please choose 3 workshops on the registration page.

What is offered in the workshops?

The workshop sessions offer a variety of school-led workshops, where you can hear about excellent practice happening in schools and networks across the state. Guest presenters will also facilitate workshops offering a variety of perspectives on the conference theme of, Excellence in Every Classroom.

Can I attend the same workshops as my leadership team?

The workshop sessions fill up fast, so if you have particular sessions you want to attend as a team, it is recommended you log on at the same time to complete your individual registrations.

The workshop rooms have capacity limits, so there will not be an opportunity to request additional places once the workshop is full.

Financial support

Are there supports for small schools or regional and rural schools?

Small school subsidy

In accordance with the Academy’s currently published fees and financial support policy, Victorian government schools with fewer than 100 students, will be provided a 2-day CRT payment. This is a once-off payment, limited to one payment per school, regardless of how many staff attend. Eligible principals and assistant principals will automatically receive the payment in the Term 3 Student Resource Package (SRP), providing they have registered for the conference and checked in on each day to confirm attendance.

Regional and rural school travel subsidy

In accordance with the Academy’s currently published fees and financial support policy, Victorian government schools that are more than 100 kilometres from the conference venue will be entitled to an accommodation subsidy of $150 per day, for principals only. Assistant principals will not be eligible for this subsidy. Eligible principals will automatically receive the payment in the Term 3 Student Resource Package (SRP), providing they registered for the conference and checked in on both days.

If your school is remote and special consideration is required to meet your travel and accommodation costs, please contact: principal.conference@education.vic.gov.au.

Presenters

My school is presenting at the conference. Will there be access to support for presenting schools?

Yes. Schools with staff presenting at the conference will be eligible for 2 days of CRT reimbursement. This will be provided through the Student Resource Package (SRP). Rural and remote schools presenting a workshop may be eligible for travel support.

Schools may be eligible for one, 2, or 3 of the subsidies offered.
