Australia's Extinct Megafauna - partnership between ABC education and the Academy
On This page
ABC Education, in collaboration with Museums Victoria and several palaeontologists, have developed exciting, animated videos and Catalyst episodes on the extinct megafauna of Australia. To accompany these videos, Master Teachers at the Academy, Lorena Pellone-Gismondi, Dimple Bhardwaj, Frances Braithwaite and Paul McAloon created several educational resources.
The project was launched at the Melbourne Museum in June 2024, bringing together educators, scientists and enthusiastic supporters to celebrate the innovative content developed for teachers.
The resources are designed to support teachers in their classroom as suggestions to extend student learning and are adaptable to use across middle years of schooling. The cross-curricular content aims to support teachers in bringing the fascinating world of Australia's extinct megafauna to their classrooms.
