- develop meaningful professional connections with other highly-skilled teachers across Victoria
- contribute insights, feedback, resources, and provocations to generate new ideas, ways of thinking and practicing for ourselves and our peers
- engage in collaborative reflection with the aim of further developing our knowledge, perspectives and skills
- elevate and promote the status of the teaching profession.
Audience
Designed for TEP alumni teachers and teacher leaders in government, Catholic and independent Victorian schools.
Facilitators
All events for the TEP Alumni Network are co-designed and co-delivered by the alumni in collaboration with the Academy’s Fellowships and Alumni team.
Structure
Over the year, the TEP Alumni Network delivers a series of events:
Alumni masterclass: Comprises online workshops or webinars organised by and for TEP Alumni.
Alumni expressing interest in hosting a masterclass receive support from the Academy Fellowships team to lead a session. These events are designed to enhance teacher capabilities in leading professional development and provide a platform for alumni to share their expertise, insights and experiences with fellow graduates.
Teacher practice circles: A platform for alumni to engage in meaningful dialogues around specific teaching practices and pedagogies. Facilitated by Master Teachers, featuring TEP alumni who have authored a TEP teacher practice note, and drawing upon the collective wisdom of the Alumni Network.
TEP teacher practice notes are evidence-informed written explorations of a specific teaching practice of pedagogy, focused on articulating the what, how and why of a specific practice; and understanding the implications and impact of enacting that practice in classrooms.
Reading circles: An opportunity to nominate, read, critically analyse, discuss and learn from each other's interpretations and connections to the texts in the TEP alumni nominated books, articles and research papers.
